Can a Hollow Rotating Platform Be Installed Laterally or Inverted?

Theoretically, lateral or inverted installation is possible, but it is not recommended. If such installation is unavoidable, the following two points must be noted:

Axial Load

The axial load specified in the product drawings refers to the allowable axial load under upright installation. When the installation orientation changes, this parameter must be subject to safety reduction. For lateral or inverted installation, the safe working axial load should be calculated conservatively with reference to 20% - 30% of the standard value.

Working Condition Requirements

Lateral or inverted installation can be considered only when the radial force is extremely small.

Recommendation

To protect the crossed roller bearing and ensure the long-term accuracy and service life of the platform, lateral or inverted installation is generally not recommended. If it is necessary, the working conditions and loads should be reasonably calculated and planned.
