Does StepperOnline Offer Closed-Loop Drives Supporting Encoder Resolutions like 1024PPR/4096CPR or Others?

StepperOnline's currently available closed-loop drives are primarily divided into the T Series and Y Series. Here is the complete list of models:

T Series:

  • CL42T-V41
  • CL57T-V41
  • CL86T-V41
  • CL57RS
  • CL86RS

Y Series:

  • CL42Y-V20
  • CL57Y
  • CL57Y-V20
  • CL86Y
  • CL86Y-V20
  • CL57EC
  • CL86EC
  • CL57PR

To be compatible with mainstream encoder resolutions, the default resolution supported by both series is 1000PPR (4000CPR).

What if your encoder has a resolution of 1024PPR (4096CPR), 512PPR (2048CPR), or another value? Must you find a different drive or request a custom one?

Anticipating this need, we designed these drives for better compatibility. The configuration software for these drives includes a feature to customize the encoder resolution. You can download the respective drive software and modify the resolution as needed, as shown in the examples below:

The above is the modification steps for the T Series closed-loop drives;

If you prefer not to make the change yourself, please leave a note with your required encoder resolution during purchase, and we will configure it for you.

We recommend keeping the modified encoder resolution within the range of 0-4000 PPR (20000 CPR). Higher resolutions might lead to compatibility issues. Please also note that these drives are only compatible with rotary encoders that output differential signals. They are currently not compatible with single-ended signal encoders or linear encoders.
