Does the Hollow Rotary Table Support Z-Axis Installation? What Type of Bearing Does It Use?

All hollow rotary tables sold by STEPPERONLINE support Z-axis installation. However, the following points need to be noted:
- Cantilever Load: The load gravity is converted into radial force and overturning moment. The longer the distance from the load's center of gravity to the table mounting surface (cantilever length), the greater the overturning moment becomes, increasing linearly. Therefore, the load mounting distance should not be too long.
- Load Derating: Due to the effect of gravity, the actual load capacity typically needs to be derated by more than 30% compared to horizontal installation.
- Preventing Drop: In case of equipment power failure, it is necessary to confirm whether the motor is equipped with a brake to prevent the load from falling.
All hollow rotary tables use crossed roller bearings, which offer the following significant advantages:
- High Rigidity: Cylindrical rollers are arranged crosswise in a V-shaped raceway, providing a large contact area and minimal deformation.
- Multi-Directional Load Capacity: A single bearing can simultaneously withstand radial forces, axial forces, and overturning moments.
- Space Saving: The inner and outer ring dimensions are minimized, enabling a compact structure while maintaining a large hollow aperture.
- High Rotational Accuracy: The bearing internals can be adjusted to negative clearance (preload state), completely eliminating play during rotation.
