Features of Each Series of STEPPERONLINE Harmonic Gearboxes
Currently, STEPPERONLINE has 44 models of harmonic gearboxes on sale, which can be divided into 5 series, namely HSS-I, HHT-I, HHT-III, HHT-IV, and HHD-I.
The harmonic gearbox is mainly composed of three basic components: wave generator, flexspline, and circular spline.
Wave generator: It is composed of a flexible bearing and an elliptical cam, usually installed at the input end of the gearbox. The inner ring of the flexible bearing is fixed on the cam, and the outer ring is elastically deformed into an ellipse by the ball bearing;
Flexspline: A flexible thin-walled elastomer part with an outer gear ring, usually installed at the output end of the gearbox.
Circular spline: A rigid annular part with an inner gear ring, generally with two more gears than the flexspline, usually fixed on the gearbox body.
Features of harmonic gearbox:
High precision: the precision of harmonic gearbox is measured in arcsec (arc seconds), while the precision of planetary gearbox is measured in arcmin (arc minutes). The maximum backlash of our conventional EG series gearbox is 20arcmin (1200arcsec), while the maximum backlash of harmonic is only 20arcsec.
Large transmission ratio: The transmission ratio of single-stage harmonic gear is between 30-500, and the structure is simple. Three basic components on the same axis can achieve a high reduction ratio.
High load-bearing capacity: In harmonic transmission, the meshing of teeth is surface contact, and the number of teeth meshing at the same time is relatively large, so the load per unit area is small, and the load-bearing capacity is higher than other transmission forms (planetary transmission).
Small size and light weight: Compared with ordinary gear devices, the size and weight of harmonic gearboxes are greatly reduced, achieving miniaturization and lightweight.
Smooth transmission, no impact, and low noise.

HSS-I Series

The flexspline is a cup-shaped standard cylinder structure, with a high-rigidity full roller cross bearing
LS tooth design, self-developed CMP heat treatment process, 1um track fine grinding, with higher rigidity, higher precision, and higher torque
The structural design is compact and simple, without tooth gap, direct connection with the motor, and easy installation
The input and output are coaxial
Excellent positioning accuracy and rotation accuracy
HHT-I Series
Product features:
The wave generator adopts an integrated structure, and the whole machine has a compact structure
It can be used in the connection method of fixing the circular spline end and outputting the flexspline end; it can also be used in the connection method of fixing the flexspline end and outputting the circular spline end
Direct connection to the motor, easy installation
HHT-III Series
Product features:
There is a large-diameter hollow shaft hole in the middle of the wave generator cam
The reducer is designed with a support bearing inside, a fully sealed structure, and easy installation
HHT-IV Series
Product features:
The wave generator cam has its own input shaft, which can correspond to various input forms
The reducer is designed with support bearings inside, fully sealed structure, and easy to install
HHD-I Series
The HHD series flexspline is an ultra-thin hollow flange structure. Without changing the product performance, the axial length of HHD-I is shortened by about 50%. The design of the whole machine has reached the limit of flatness. It is small in size and light in weight. It is very suitable for use in occasions with strict requirements on the thickness of the reducer. Installation instructions: It can be used in the connection method of fixing the circular spline end and outputting the flexspline end; it can also be used in the connection method of fixing the flexspline end and outputting the circular spline end.
