Special Instructions for PG Series Gearbox Motors

Among the products sold by our company, some motors are equipped with PG series gearboxes, such as 17HS15-1684S-PG27. Since the PG series gearboxes are somewhat different from the conventional gearboxes we sell separately, the PG series gearboxes cannot be replaced with conventional gearboxes.

The difference between PG series gearbox and conventional gearbox:

Different types of input shafts

The PG series gearbox is different from the conventional gearbox. It is not a gearbox connected to the motor shaft through a coupling. Instead, it requires some processing of the motor shaft to make the motor shaft into a special type, such as gear shaft, hobbing shaft, etc. .





Therefore, due to the special processing of the motor shaft, the motor of the PG series gearbox motor is not suitable for conventional gearboxes and cannot be installed with conventional gearboxes. Similarly, because the PG series gearbox requires special processing of the motor shaft, and the shaft of the conventional motor is not processed, the PG series gearbox is not suitable for conventional motors and cannot be installed.
In addition, because the size of the NEMA 8 specification PG series gearbox motor is too small, some skills are required when installing the gearbox. Therefore, do not disassemble the NEMA 8 specification PG series gearbox to prevent installation after disassembly.

Different sizes of gearboxes

Since the PG series gearbox is directly connected to the internal gear of the gearbox and does not require a coupling for connection, the body length of the PG series gearbox is shorter than that of the conventional EG series.

Gearboxes have different reduction ratios

Since the internal structures of PG series gearboxes and EG series gearboxes are different, and the number of teeth of the planetary gear and sun gear is different, the reduction ratio of PG series gearboxes is generally not an integer, such as 23HS22-2804S-PG15, the reduction ratio of the gearbox is actually 15.3 . Therefore, if the reduction ratio of the gearbox is required to be an integer, please choose other series of gearboxes instead of the PG series gearbox motor.



The accuracy of gearboxes is different

As an economical product launched by our company, the PG series gearbox motor compromises on the accuracy of the gearbox while ensuring its price advantage. The backlash of the EG series gearboxes we sell separately is generally ≤20arcmin, while the accuracy of the PG series gearboxes is generally ≤3 degrees. Although the accuracy is poorer than other gearboxes, PG series gearbox motors are still a good choice in situations where accuracy is not required.
