Configuration of Servo Enable Invalid Stop Mode for A6 AC Servo Drives

The configuration for behavior when servo enable is invalid (e.g., during a power loss) is used to modify the system's response during unexpected power interruptions. First, confirm the purpose of testing the servo system power loss:

Scenario 1: Intending to use power cut-off for emergency stopping.

Scenario 2: Testing to observe load behavior after power loss to prepare for unexpected power failures in the workspace.

Scenario 1: We do not recommend using power cut-off for emergency stopping. It is advised to use a Digital Input (DI) command for emergency stops. Alternatively, the Safety Torque Off (STO) function we provide can also meet this requirement.

Scenario 2: The servo motor's stopping behavior can be modified by adjusting the following parameter:

  • C05.00 Servo Enable Invalid Stop Mode

  • C05.00 = 0: Coast to stop (free run). The motor remains in a free state.

  • C05.00 = 1: Ramp to stop, then remain in a free state.

Both options are suitable for scenarios requiring the load to decelerate gradually.

  • C05.00 = 0: Stops without any intervention.

  • C05.00 = 1: The system enters a ramp stop mode. The stopping speed can be adjusted via parameter C05.08 (Quick Stop Deceleration Time). The most critical step is to test and determine a suitable value based on the actual load conditions to ensure the load does not cause damage to the equipment after an unexpected power loss.
