Stepper Motor Wire Sequence
Generally, there are several marking methods for the wire sequence of the hybrid two-phase stepping motor.
Take a 4-wire stepper motor as an example:
Take a 6-wire stepper motor as an example:
Take a 8-wire stepper motor as an example:
The name of the port connected to the stepper motor on the stepper driver is generally A+ A- B+ B- (see the figure below). A+ and A- are one phase, B+ and B- are another phase.
Some driver boards have different markings.
For example: A4988 is marked as 2B 2A 1A 1B. 2B and 2A are one phase, 1A and 1B are another phase.
DRV8825 is marked as B2 B1 A1 A2. B1 and B2 are one phase, and A1 and A2 are another phase.
So how to wire the motor to the driver, you need to check the driver manual. Below are wiring diagrams of A4988 and DRV8825.
