Lubrication Instructions for LK/LKN/LG Series Ball Screw Linear Modules

Among the currently available large-scale linear modules:

  • LA Series: Belt-driven
  • LK Series: Ball screw-driven
  • LG Series: Ball screw-driven
  • LKN Series: Ball screw-driven

With the exception of the LA series, the ball screws of the other three models require regular lubrication. Please observe the following precautions during lubrication.

Lubrication Points:

All three module series feature lubrication holes located on the slider block for convenient external lubrication. This design allows for direct oil injection without disassembling any parts, ensuring normal equipment operation. Additionally, depending on the specific model and specifications, some modules are equipped with brass grease fittings on both sides of the slide table, through which lubrication can also be applied directly.

Lubrication Precautions:

  • Lubricating grease is already applied at the factory. The replacement interval should be determined based on operating conditions. A recommended interval is approximately every 6 months. If the module is used frequently, replacement every 3 months is advisable. If you notice abnormal operating noise, a feeling of roughness/jerking during movement, or observe that the grease on the ball screw has turned black or dried out, lubrication should be performed immediately, regardless of the scheduled interval.
  • It is recommended to use THK grease for lubrication. Avoid mixing greases under any circumstances. Absolutely do not mix different types or consistencies of grease, as they may undergo chemical reactions, leading to lubrication failure.
